Airport Pick Up/Drop Off

Upon arrival at the Ouarzazate Airport, kindly proceed to the CIF@10 desk for shuttle services to your hotel. The recommended hotels (Le Berbere Palace, Hotel Farah Al Janoub, Hotel Club Hanane) are located about 20 minutes from the airport. Transportation will be organized based on arrival/departure dates provided in the registration system.  If you have not yet provided these dates, please do so urgently here.

Shuttle buses will be provided from La Berbere Palace Hotel, Hôtel Farah Aljanoub and the Hôtel Club Hanane to the airport from Wednesday January 30 – Sunday, February 3, 2019. These shuttle buses will depart the above three hotels 2 hours before each expected flight departure from Ouarzazate Airport.

 

Registration Badges

You will receive a participants’ badge for the event as you check-in to your hotel (Le Berbere Palace Hotel, Hotel Farah Aljanoub and the Hôtel Club Hanane). Please keep this registration badge safe as you will need this to board the shuttle buses and to access the Masen Center, where the event will take place. Kindly check at the CIF@10 desk located in La Berbere Palace Hotel, or with the hotel front desk, if you are not provided with a badge upon arrival.

 

Shuttle Services from Hotels to Venue

A shuttle bus service will be provided for all participants staying in the Berbere Palace Hotel, Hôtel Farah Aljanoub and the Hôtel Club Hanane as follows:

Monday, January 28 – Tuesday, January 29

  • Depart hotel to Masen Center at 8.00 a.m. Passports must be shown to hostess;
  • Depart Masen Center to above three hotels – directly after the conclusion of the event.

Wednesday, January 30

  • Depart hotel to Masen Center: 8:20 am; 9:20 am; 10:20 am; 11:20 am; 1:20 pm; and 2:30 pm;
  • Depart Masen Center to Hotel: 12:30 pm; 2:00 pm; 3:30 pm and 5:30 p.m.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Participants not staying at one of the above three hotels MUST make their way to the Berbere Palace Hotel to avail themselves of this shuttle service.  Taxis and other forms of transportation will not be granted access to the Masen Site.

 

Reception

A reception will be held at La Berbere Palace Hotel between 7.00 p.m. – 9.30 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019. All participants are welcome.

Transportation from the reception to the Hôtel Farah Aljanoub and the Hôtel Club Hanane will leave at 9:00 pm and 9:45 pm.

 

Entry Visa

Please ensure that you have either obtained an entry visa to Morocco, or that you have a printed copy of the visa on arrival approval letter. Travelers must ensure that their international passports have at least six months of validity.

You are kindly reminded to verify specific requirements (including transit visa) before travelling. Please ensure that your application for a visa request is submitted well in advance of the meeting dates as issuance may take up to four weeks.

For participants requiring an entry visa but without an in-country diplomatic mission or Moroccan Embassy, the CIF Administrative Unit is collaborating with the relevant Moroccan departments to assist with issuing those participants with a visa on arrival.  Please contact the CIF Administrative Unit at cif_events@worldbank.org to request assistance on this matter – kindly ensure that your passport is valid for six months from the date of entry.

 

Safety and Security

The Masen Center is a secure location, you will need to keep your international passport with you at all times. You will need to show your passport to be able to board the shuttle bus and to access the Masen Center.

  • Weather: At this time in Ouarzazate, temperatures may range from 14 to 16˚C in the day time and -1 to 3˚C in the night time. Please dress accordingly and pack comfortable clothing for the guided tours to the CSP plant.
  • Currency Exchange: Local currency is the Moroccan Dirham. Major credit cards are readily accepted in Ouarzazate.

An emergency response team will be available on-site at the Masen center and Le Berbere Palace Hotel for any medical emergencies.
